Joanna Fawzy Morales, Esq., Director
Joanna Morales is the Director of the Cancer Legal Resource Center, a joint program of the Disability Rights Legal Center and Loyola Law School. Mrs. Morales is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at Loyola Law School, teaching a seminar in Cancer Rights Law.
Prior to joining the DRLC staff as a Loyola Law School Post-Graduate Public Interest Law Fellow, Mrs. Morales spent eight years working at the John Wayne Cancer Institute for its Psychosocial Care Program and Positive Appearance Center.
Mrs. Morales presently serves as the President of the Board of Directors for Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Los Angeles County Affiliate, Chair of the American Cancer Society’s California Division Patient Support Team, and as a member of the ACS California Division Access to Care Team, and the California Dialogue on Cancer. She also sits on numerous cancer community workgroups and committees. Mrs. Morales has authored numerous articles, reviewed publications, and presented over one hundred seminars throughout the country.
Ms. Morales was awarded the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Public Policy Advocate of the Year in 2009. She was also recognized by the Los Angeles Daily Journal as one of the Top 20 Attorneys in California Under the Age of 40 in 2010.
