Anna Rivera, Staff Attorney
Anna Rivera is the Juvenile Justice Staff Attorney for the Education Advocacy Project. Anna is a 2005 graduate of Southwestern University School of Law. During her attendance there she was a law clerk for the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s office - working in both the juvenile and adult court systems. She also volunteered with the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Domestic Violence Project. In addition, Anna was actively involved in the Public Interest Law group and served as the President of the Latino Law Student Association.
Anna received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. While at Lewis and Clark Anna participated in an off-campus program spending a semester in Washington, D.C. where she interned with a civil rights attorney and conducted significant research in the area of racially hostile work environments. Anna was also involved in a variety of on-campus student activities. She co-founded the Hispanic Student Union and worked to raise awareness of issues confronting minority students. She also took an active part in Take Back the Night, an organization dedicated to combating sexual violence against women.
