Zaheva Stevens Knowles, Loyola Marymount University Staff Attorney
Zaheva Stevens Knowles is a Staff Attorney with the Education Advocacy Project at the Loyola Marymount University satellite office, and focuses on providing special education representation for students with learning-related disabilities between the ages of three and ten years of age. She works closely with parents, staff, regional centers, and medical community to ensure the delivery of special education services.
Ms. Stevens Knowles obtained her J.D. from Northeastern University in 2000. Prior to joining the DRLC, she worked for several years as a litigation associate with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, LLP, and was a law clerk for the Honorable Julian Abele Cook, Jr. in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. As a law student, Ms. Stevens Knowles worked in San Francisco for the Office of the Public Defender and later for the Office of the City Attorney. She also worked at the Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights, contributing her time to their Legal Services Clinic and the Asylum Program.
